Onboard Logistics
The Maavahi DNA
Everything you need to know about life aboard our 85ft Maldivian Soul Cruiser.
1. The “Soul Cruiser” Ethos & Ocean Navigation
Maavahi is a traditional Maldivian wooden vessel — a true “Soul Cruiser.” At 27 meters (85 ft) long and nearly 10 meters wide, she offers the exceptional stability you want for a proper Indian Ocean expedition. The boat spans three decks designed for unrestricted ocean living, featuring expansive sunbathing areas, dedicated spaces for sunset yoga, and shaded zones for total relaxation. Surfboard racks run across multiple deck levels — boards stowed safely, walkways always clear.
- Built in 1998, fully restyled in 2023
- Dry-docked for two months every year for rigorous maintenance
- Twin-engine configuration for surf and dive charter flexibility
From the Helm: Night Navigation
Equipped with comprehensive instrumentation and an expert local crew, we frequently execute longer inter-atoll crossings at night. You sleep after dinner and wake up at sunrise, perfectly positioned at a new break, dive site, or desert beach to explore.
2. Cabins: Private Charters & Shared Adventures
Maavahi is the ideal choice whether you are booking a private boat charter for your own crew or joining one of our shared adventures as a small group or solo traveler. Her ample common spaces ensure privacy and comfort for everyone on board.
- 7 guest cabins strategically located on the lower deck for maximum stability while sleeping
- Each cabin accommodates two guests in smart bunk-bed configurations
- Self-controlled air conditioning and personal storage lockers in every cabin
- Private en-suite bathroom with hot shower
Crew Notes
Cabins run cold — by design. The AC keeps the air fresh and the sleep deep, even on the equator. Sheets, pillow and a light blanket are provided and rotated regularly. If you run warm at night, you're sorted. If you're the type who sleeps in a hoodie at home, pack a thin layer — a light cotton top makes all the difference at 2am mid-Indian Ocean.
One more thing worth knowing: toiletries are not provided on board — no soap, shampoo or shower gel in the cabins. Pack your own for the week. If you forget, inhabited islands always have a small shop with the basics. If you have specific skin or hair sensitivities, definitely sort it before departure.
3. The Galley, Bar & Water Management
Buffet-style meals fuse international cuisine with Maldivian tradition, heavily featuring the fresh catch of the day — often hooked by our own guests. The onboard bar is fully stocked with cold beer, spirits, and juices.
- Freshwater produced onboard via reverse osmosis — refrigerated drinking dispenser always available
- Aft-deck washing machine for gear and wetsuits
- Outdoor rinse showers at the back of the vessel
- Strategic stops at local islands to restock the galley with fresh produce
Ask the Crew: Dietary Flexibility
We know that epic food is a priority on any all-inclusive liveaboard charter. We expertly manage dietary requirements — from high-quality vegan food to celiac-friendly meals. Mention your needs at booking and the galley adapts accordingly.
4. Electricity & Tech Station
Reliable 220V power, 24 hours a day, across all cabins and common areas via onboard generators. Power outlets use the UK system (Type G, 3 rectangular pins).
- In the main saloon: a dedicated Tech Station — a large table with multiple charging hubs for drones, laptops, and underwater camera housings
- Equipment stays charged, organized, and secure while underway
Atoll Wisdom: Plugs & Charging
If you have multiple devices, bring your universal adapters — those little things come and go quickly on a boat. And if you forget one at duty free, don't worry: they're widely available in shops and minimarkets on every island we stop at.
5. The Support Fleet & Board Storage
Maavahi comes with a support dinghy as standard. But depending on your trip — surf expedition, dive charter, or a fishing reunion — we can add dedicated support vessels to the fleet.
- A surf dhoni with board racks and a local guide
- A dive dhoni with compressor and full equipment
- A second tender to split groups between surf, island hopping, or snorkeling simultaneously
It's a conversation we have before departure, not a fixed package. The fleet is configured around your trip.
Worth Knowing
- → Surfers: once your board is out of the travel bag, a soft board sock is worth its weight in gold on the boat-dinghy-dhoni routine. Equatorial sun, heat, and wax don't mix well — your board will thank you for every ding you didn't give it
- → Divers: pack a light windproof layer for early morning exits. Coming out of the water at dawn with a bit of chop on the crossing back can be surprisingly cold

Now that you've seen your home at sea. It's time to start your journey. Reach out to check availability or request a custom itinerary.
